Jonna Kina’s (b.1984) works often lies at the junction of sound, language and image. Working with various mediums including film, video, sculpture, installation, text and sound, Kina holds further complexity in her use of artifice to search for new perspectives and meaning. She exhibits her findings with the value of the fictional viewpoints in non-fictional investigations. Kina’s works has been recently shown in the Tokyo Photographic Art Museum; Galleria delle Carrozze di Palazzo Medici Riccardi, Florence; Fondazione Pastificio Cerere, Rome; Dunkers Kulturhus, Helsingborg; Musée de l’Elysée, Lausanne; International Film Festival Rotterdam; Hasselblad Foundation, Gothenburg; Espoo Modern Art Museum EMMA; Kumu Art Museum, Talinn and in Sara Hildén Art Museum, Tampere, among others. Next her works will be featured in her solo exhibition “Objects and Sounds” at the Fondazione Pastificio Cerere in Rome curated by Manuela Pacella.
